Story
Hi there!
I'm making a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to our hearts.
We lost Mum to cancer in November 2019. It feels like it happened yesterday and I'm not sure it's really truly sunk in yet. I was pregnant during the majority of her treatment which included radiotherapy, this meant there were significant chucks of time I was not allowed to see my mum.
Macmillan were there for her throughout, offering advice and support. Being someone to talk to when she wanted to put on a brave face for us. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for her but also the support they offered to us as family members too.
It then seems fitting that given this is emotionally challenging due to the cause and the memory I am doing this for, but also physically challenging and obstacle laden for someone who hates running. For me it symbolizes that no matter how hard it got, mum always kept going forward and overcame so much that was hard. So if I can do this and raise some money for the people that helped her do that, it is worth it so they can do the same for so many more families and individuals in a similar situation.
Thank you and wish me lots of luck!
Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice. Thanks so much for your support!
